No more running!!

Okay since summer is basically coming to a close now, I just want to ask everyone how they felt their summers were?? And if anyone would really really love to do hang out or what not in these last several days of freedom before school reboots and we all have to jack in... again. so give me the down low, the 411, the scoop, i don't know whatever it is you people call it these days.

The Real Kenosha Tremper

Everyone ran. Everyone finished. no one walked. got a picture of the team. no one died. Woo hoo.

Kenosha Tremper ;)

okay since I know that most of you were not happy with this and yes I'm sorry what I wrote was very harsh and it was written in a bad light. I can see all of your points, so I know I can't make up for the post; sorry I was upset with some performances, maybe I just get to caught up in the running. No not an excuse but it's a possibility. All I will say is that everyone knew about cross country in the fall. Yes even the freshman knew that cross country was in the fall, no one was stopping you from going out running. And no I don't have any right to belittle someone elses effort when they have tried as hard as they can. that was wrong. I made a mistake, and I'm sorry. Humbleness would serve me well.

I have a weird little obsession. : /

Today I was running behind Andy Ashenden and we were on the bike path out near the Mequon Pool and since it was basically the flatest terrain ever I was getting really bored with looking around. So I went back to doing something I almost always do during a race. I watched the legs of the runner in front of me. It's probably not a very good thing to do since it means you aren't looking ahead very far and hence not really pushing yourself, but I find it to help me get my mind off the actual task of running. But then I noticed how when you watched a runners legs when they were in front of you, the motion was so fluid. All the muscles in their leg on the ground would crumple up into a ball as the foot released and then it would come up and back and hang their until falling back down. It was just amazing to watch. I don't know why but I find it to be such an amazing sight. Like I know it really doesn't make any sense. But the way the whole system works, it really is rather fascinating. It's a whole system working together, the muscles starting at the bottom working all the way up to the top, really its just a big system of contracting muscles. But on the outside it looks so much more then that, its a sleek system of floating. Cause really thats what running technically is. Its temporarily leaving the ground only to land again just to fly again. Really it's amazing. I just hope that tomorrow I don't get so caught up in the whole idea that I lose focus on my race. I really want to earn that stupid varsity letter which eluded me last year by only 18 seconds (ohh the rage). Now I am on varsity already and I am determined to earn my letter tomorrow or die trying.
so in short good luck tomorrow all my fellow runners. Lauren, Abby, Hillary, Ben, Lucas, Alex, Andy, Nick, Steven, Andrew; good luck everyone.
Only think of two things - the gun and the tape. When you hear the one, just run like hell until you break the other. ~Sam Mussabini

Okay new issue.

Recently a new innovation in the stem cell research debate surfaced. Or maybe I should say a new method of stem cell research did. Scientests apparently now have the ability to create a stem cell from a dead skin cell whereas previously it took dead embryos to create a stem cell. This changes the way that an argument against stem cell research may be made. After all now you are taking already dead cells which naturally die off and using them to create stem cells. In most ways thats not really a big human rights issue. Plus no living being must die in this process. they only need to shed :P
Now at one time I was really fiercely against stem cells and I still am against them for religious reasons only. But I will admit that medically speaking they are by far a massive opportunity for man to cure diseases that have proven to be illustrious to us previously. Really this field of medical technology could possibly cure cancer, paralysis, mental development disorders, AID's any number of things. Really the possibilities are limitless, which is also why I worry about stem cell research. Because when things are meant for good often times they can be used for evil.
Criminals could easily get stem cell research to change their body complection, skin color, any number of things and become impossibly to capture. Terrorists could easily use it to their advantage in order to change their appearance. However to deny millions and possibly billions of people the possible benefits granted by stem cell research is hardly fair after only a few thousand abuse it.
I could see either side of this argument really; and my own beef with the issue is just how easily it could be abused, and how unethical I feel it is based off of my religious beliefs. But in a scientific sense I think this is an amazing technique. The only way I feel it should be used is in a well controlled manner to work only and solely on issues dealing with body damage and diseases.
Is it worth it to you??

Pike Lake was amazing!!

So today was Pike Lake with the cross country team. It was rather a gorgeous morning if I may say so myself. I was anxiously awaiting the journey out to Pike Lake so I got up early (6:45!!) and was ready by 7. so for the next 30 minutes I sat around reading the paper listening to the techno tunes. (hey techno rocks :) when I arrived at the school no one seemed to be there. I was thinking the entire team was going to miss Pike Lake; now no way on earth would that be cool. Pike Lake is a team building exercise, you can't go without the entire team. well with like 3 minutes to 8 there was a mad scramble of people showing up or walking out of the locker room (we put an N64 in there on top of our stolen TV and I'm assuming that is where the masses were located). It was quite funny actually, cause then mad dash for the bus so you can get a seat all by yourself. Then we sat there for 5 minutes waiting... waiting...waiting for those people who couldn't get themselves there on time *coughLaurenMoroder!!!!cough*. Finally everyone showed up and we headed out for Pike Lake. Ahh the bus was good times but no one cares about the bus anyways so back to the story at hand here. We arrive at Pike Lake to find a beautiful blue sky, lots of random seagulls awaiting us on the beach, the sun blinding any mortal who stared East, and Slingers Cross country team doing their 1 mile time trials. that was funny to witness, their girls team alone had more people then our entire team. It was hilarious when the entire gaggle of girls finished a warm up run and as a team walked into the ladies room. It looked like a never ending procession. And I'm willing to bet not even 1/2 of them had to use the bathroom, its just the "social" thing to do. Anywho, we warmed up, stretched, and then went off to the lovely map of Pike Lake park and there el coaches told us our routes for the day. And but of course I got stuck with Kriegel and Andy on the brown trail. There are 5 trails to run at Pike Lake. There is the red trail (.7 miles), the green trail (1.2miles), the orange trail (2.3 miles), the blue trail (3.8 miles) and the brown trail (4.2 miles). Now to anyone who hasn't been to Pike Lake before or who is a noob and doesn't know jack about running, this distance is incredibly short. This run is incredibly painful. :). The thing about Pike Lake is you go like this _-`-_-`-_. except its a bit more steep then that. and there is nothing but hill after hill after hill. the most depressing thing is that for every downhill you do there are 2 uuphills far worse right after that. And the downhills at Pike Lake are horrid, so steep that it seemed everyone was falling over from them. One hill is straight down for about 100 meters, then oh of course you have 2 50 meter hills connecting each other together immediatelly around the turn after that hill. but on the whole, it was an insanely fun run. I kept up with Andy and Kriegel the entire run, up until they added on the tiny red trail while Brogs took me into his group for the run to the tower. Which with his group turned into the walk, which I didn't walk because my time on the run was still going. So finally I arrive at the entrance to the path to the tower and stop and wait for literally every other member of our team, which takes a while but its a fun while since you get to see and encourage everyone up the last little hill and then congratulate them. then everyone returns and we do a new little thing we have never done before and walk down that hill and up to this little knoll and do 2 quick sprinting races up those hills back to where the tower thing is. I took 2nd in the first heat :( and I dominated the 2nd heat. Ahh damn you Ben Connard!!!! then we walked up the long and literally winding path to the tower, which produces the most gorgeous view this side of the Rockies. Oh my gosh it was to die for. you could see hundreds of miles, and the lake was so vibrantly blue, and everywhere you looked there were trees... it was spectacular (aww lauren its okay to be afraid). Then we had the option of walking back the 1.1 miles to our campsite or jogging it back. Guess what I did :). why I shagged back with Lucas pfaff. Once back the stretching and eating commenced, followed by the darn sun hiding behind clouds while we all donned swimming suits and ran into freezing cold water which just so happened to have pile on top of pile of rocks littering the bottom. It was the best when brogs and kriegs came out and brought the water footbal and threw it up in the hopes that people would dive to get it and hence go under freezing water. That was hilarious!!! People would get hit in the face, and then miss the ball. Or someone (ha hillary) would get the ball and then get dunked. It was a blast!!!! WHEEEEE!!! Finally to conclude my day at Pike Lake, we took a real football went up on the grassy part of the beach and commenced playing tag football. Andy, aman, Wiz and I were on a team against Kriegs, brad, Giese, and Dani fisher. The teams were a bit unfairly stacked since only Kriegs and brad were any good so we switched it up. I went to Kriegs team and they got Dani. Ha we pwned :). everyone else at this time however was being social butterflies and talking amongst their groups. Ahh you non-fun hippies!! football was where it was at. Brogs was our announcer, he was our "John Madden". so then we packed it up after that and headed back to Grafton where I am writing this joyous post to you. so all in all it was a blast!!! I can't wait to go back to not too soon because this season must go slowly so I can enjoy every minute with my teammates (aka my family), my friends, and my hero..Andy. Well I'm very sorry for how long this post was but I wanted to make sure that those of you who were not there, didn't feel like I left you clueless. Although you are clueless for not joining cross country to begin with :)

Pike Lake in 3 days!!!!

this is a spectacular day in history. Well its not really today thats spectacular its the day thats only a mere 3 days away. Pike Lake!!!! The most amazingly fun, most amazingly challenging, most amazingly invigorating, most amazingly amazing day of the year!!! We get to run one of 5 trails ranging from 4 miles to 10 miles, and then we get to race up one really long really steep hill up to the tower where we run to the top and then can see for miles!!!! Its spectacular. Then its just a nice cool down back to the beach where everyone grabs their lunch and we do sit ups (supposedly :). After that its basically just sit around and talk, tan, throw the frisbee, football, swim do whatever you want. Its really the most amazing day ever. Everyone just hangs out and has a blast. Plus as a work out its quite possibly the toughest one we do because its a load of hills. But its a fun work out because you are running through the woods for the entire thing... makes breathing a breeze, plus you feel like one with nature. But then there is this one trail which goes right along the beach... its so amazing. Its basically running on sand. I feel so complete when I run there. the only time i ever feel better is at meets. this year i just know it will be amazing. with all the new people, and the fact that i actually know everybody this year... I can't wait!!!
My niece and both my nephews have been over all day today since cross country practice ended. Its been a blast!!! I gave like 18 piggyback rides, and I have had kids sitting on my head so many times today that I think I have lost a critical amount of brain cells (or brian cells as some foolish people call them . But i love them soooo sooo much!!!! I seriously could not live without them in my life. Ever since 1st grade i have been an uncle. I wouldn't trade any of them for all the money on this earth, it wouldn't be worth it; not even close. Today I can smile, look and say, with confidence and not dismay, was definitely another good day :)

by the way something so magically special happened today ( no i didn't get a life noobs). My oldest nephew (Brett) he is just shy of 2 years old and just learning how to talk, he finally said my name tonight!!! I felt so special, although he didn't really say it to me.. but I learned what it was. the oldest child called me "fluffy" the middle child or girl said "that's my jeffy!!" and Brett calls me "freffrey". i feel like one blessed person to have these three in my life.

Peace out

"Headline News"

"grafton girls cross country team is no longer a conference competitor as star runner Lauren Moroder (aka amoeba to some of our viewing audience/readers/w/e you people are) is killed by a horrible tornado that attacked her house on thursday evening as she apparently locked herself out of her house (yes and she did have a 4.0), the team then commenced committing suicide as they realized their lives now lost purpose. coach brogelman denied commenting claiming "what can I say, this girl was our future and then now we have no more future, we just have to look to our boys team to win the conference and we shall all mourn the loss of such a wonderful runner and person"

if you don't have an opinion on this topic then you may be a bit behind the times.

Ahh short simple and sweet I will keep this one short for your viewing pleasure.
topic :abortions. reasons: its just debatable.

for anyone who knows me uber well there are probably only two topics which i get more heated over then this one. Cloning and cancer, although ones more a disease then a topic but thats beside the point.
Abortions, the sickly deathly process of killing an unborn fetus, embyro or zygote, in anyone of the three trimesters of development. Really what is there to gain by killing an unborn human?? A human has a right to live, and who the hell are you to kill off that person, to deny them the right that you have every morning when you get out of bed!!! Really the fact of the matter is to kill off a baby is a sick twisted thing to do. I can see no situation, not a one where an abortion is a justified solution. Not even when a girl gets raped and then becomes pregnant could I see abortion as justified. in that case why not just give the baby up for adoption?? there are plenty of parents out there who can't have a child who would take one and then perfectly cabable children whom we have no idea what they may have done are killed off... its a sick world and this process only makes it sicker!!!
This is not based only off my religion that i say this, it also comes from respect for my fellow man(and woman). to me its no different then murder. cold hearted murder.

todays work out was smooth sailing in stormy seas

just what we looked like today Today we had to do our 2 mile time trial for cross country. Now yes I know that being a cross country team we are supposed to run far, and many of you are probably thinking "2 miles, why that isn't that far, i could run 2 miles". and yes i would hope you could run 2 miles otherwise I must say you need to work on your cardio vascular strentgh... a lot. But yes today is quite important, all of our work outs for the next 4 weeks or so are based off of how fast we ran our 2 mile today, so its best to put forth a good showing.
I didn't do amazing considering the fact that I have been training for basically 3 months straight hard... but since I haven't done any speed really I didn't know what to expect. ran an 11:55, not too bad that would translate out to about an 18:10 or so in a 5K.
The team did really good as a whole I feel. cept for the young freshman, man are they out of shape. We came in all of us last year in far better shape then these young bucks have. Well I don't know about the girl at least, but the guys are horrid. to put it nicely, maybe over time I'm thinking they will improve but one of the boys was on pace to run over 30 minutes for a 5K, thats over a 10 minute average mile. Thats ridiculous. People can out walk that pace!!
but on the other hand the guys looked strong. Brad, ben, lucas and I all did really well, and Kyle Hallamen finished higher then I expected him to. Alex and Aman were a bit disappointing but they probably were letting us younger folk have a chance at the lead :)
the girls looked pretty good too. Lauren brooks was so so today, she kinda didn't look too impressive to me... but Lauren, Amy and hillary all impressed me today. They did better then half the guys. And yes while they may say what not about their times, really considering that they have never run this far before in their lives in such a speedy environment, it was really a sign of how far along they have come as runners since just this past track season. Hopefully they will take the girls to state with us guys :)
And lastly on that half I just want to say that no I didn't prove to Kriegel that he has a runner on his hands, little (ha like 7 feet tall) noob caught up to me at the mile and then proceeded to burn me. He ran a 5:48 first mile split, and I ran a 5:49 but after that he finished his two mile with a time of 10:54, while i was a full minute away running an 11:55. so yes Kriegel you got me, pwned I was. But next year I will take you tall man.
by the way, its been a pleasure meeting you Hillary I must say. now everyone have a wonderful day, and rejoice in the fact that you didn't read all this.

this is random but yes it had to happen

okay so apparently this line is blog posting worthy.

"Well I like to think I have some self worth, but then I went into a store once and I asked how much is this worth, and they responded not much."

and just as a little shoutout I want to say that I hope all of the Volleyball girls had successful tryouts. so opal, eileen, Kim, and Kara, I wish you 4 the best of luck, I prayed that all of you would make it last nigth and I'm pretty confident you will.
Matt good luck with soccer man, you most definitely trained hard enough to deserve a slot on varsity.
Kim, Lisa, Sarah everyone in tennis good luck, your season starts tomorrow, so I really hope you all do well.
rachel, keely, Sarah, good luck with swim team, LORD knows your coach works you all down to the bone.
Kelly luck with dance.
And finally to all my cross country teammates and friends (yes i do have friends) i wish you all the best of luck and hope that this year as a team we will make it to state. We can do it, WE WILL DO IT.

P.S. Hope your first day of cross was fun Hillary and Lauren.. :)

KJ

Cross country started today!!!

So last night i went to bed at 11 hoping to make the time go quickly until cross country started... I didn't fall asleep until 1:30!!! I was so anxious for cross to start that i wouldn't fall asleep i was the energizer bunny in bed :) So i finally fell asleep and then alas my dad wakes me up at 5:30 by scraping the chair out in the dining room.. i couldn't fall back asleep i just sat there looking at my watch in the glow mode for hours!!! i have bypassed pitifully pathetic and gone straight to lame loser who needs to be locked up in a cell where they keep idiots such as myself busy for hours with one tennis ball.
practice was fun, we have a grand total of 33 people i do believe. thats massive compared with last year... i just really hope it doesn't get to be so huge that we don't the bonding opportunities we had as a team last year. like the time i spent with lucas, aman and everybody they were awesome. as brogs said today you really do become like a family. brother aman!!! haha thats funny to think about.
i was shocked today, they had us do a run that was actually further then an extended bank run. i was shocked, flabbergasted. not complaining but shocked. Brad, ben, lucas and I had to run a reverse Cedar Creek Run, while everyone else ran the John Long run.. One thing i have to say i love about when cross starts is when you just see the massive crowd of people running lol and then you just run up and pass them, oh my gosh its the most amazing feeling, almost as good as the runners high.
Oh tomorrow is the 2 mile im actually so nervous for it, like I can't believe that the time trial is so soon. I feel slow right now, like I can't sprint very well, my hip aches whenever I try so its not that good. I do'nt know maybe its the thought of going out onto the track again.. I do'nt have fond memories of that track, the mere thought of what I could have done, and failed to do, its like an open wound. Never to be closed because that year can never be brought back. But I think for tomorrow I will show you Kriegel, you have a runner on your hands.

Correr!!!!!Correr!!!!!! yea i think you get the idea...

Okay I have only one really big point to put down in this post. Monday, or the day after this Sunday, which comes after saturday which just happens to be tomorrow or only a mere 1 hours away, is the holiest of holy days in my running calender. Cross country starts, the sport where guys (and of course girls) run 5 kilometers (sorry girls only 4 for you) or in rough American terms 3.12 miles. Its the best week of the year because we take a trip out to Pike Lake and run the most hellish trails i have ever seen in my life, go swimming in the lake and overall have a blast meeting and greeting as a team. (that was fun to say, meeting and greeting :)
today was a fun day. so far this morning I have done the longest run yet that I have ever logged in my entire running career. (1 hour, 2 minutes, 51 seconds) {and yes its lame that I have that down to the seconds}. then I biked home, did my physical therapy work out, did sit ups, took a shower and then sat here writing this boring post to all of you who don't care enough to read it.
So in the mean time I want to know what does everyone think of this summer so far?? We have basically one month left to go and I'm hoping everyone else has enjoyed it as much as I have.
Just want to leave a little shout out to Kara, Brian, Opal, and Andy, and Kim (even though none of those five will ever in their lives see this) but thanks for the good time at the fair. I know that I at least enjoyed it. Other then when you decided to make me all depressed Brian. oh well, its over and im better then to let that get me down.
WAY TO GO IDAHO
okay so yes there is this girl. Her name well it really isn't important is it?? No because the name doesn't make the person, and the person is what i care about. She isn't the hottest girl in school, nor is she probably the smartest. But does that really matter?? Nope because when shes around, Im all smiles, when I see her my heart flutters, the way she smiles, that makes me feel lighter then air, floating on the clouds. Dancing with angels.

And I think to myself...
maybe you are the one.

sorry to end the sex talk

As the title suggests I am just soo sorry to end the fun everyone was having talking about sex but its time to move on cause that was and probably still is getting out of hand.

so last night I went to the County Fair with brian, andy, kara, kim, and we met opal there. To say everyone was there would not be an understatement. The carnies holy cow they are either high or just stupid. Or both. Probably both, cause to be high is to be stupid. the night was pretty good, until I talked to Brian right before we left... then the night sucked. Sucked majorily.
since things sucked, I haven't said a word since... other then "thanks for the ride" to Mrs. Holther. since that time last night I have not spoken a word or talked to a soul. Just sat around and thought about what Brian told me. Well I didn't just sit around, I did go for a 20 mile bike ride today :) that was fun. Plus tonight I get to run, that should be fun too. otherwise really I have just sat around thinking. thinking hard. thinking hard about you.
this week has lagged, since no one has been home, and all I really have to look forward to every day is running and then possibly biking although with the heat the way it was... that was difficult. Played some poker, halo fest, really it was just another week. Until last night. Damn last night was harsh. oh well its life, gotta deal. either ship up or ship out.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
