Deja Vu??

Anybody else ever get the feeling that their life is just a complete circle, with only the weather to break up the monotony of living?? I feel like I keep doing the same things day in and day out, making the same mistakes over and over, and not learning from it. Honestly, I am almost wishing for school right now, just to do something new, but one week into school, that will get monotonous and boring and I will be begging for summer back. See this is why life needs spontaniety, it needs variety. The same old routine is just the same old routine.

I have made mistakes before, many many mistakes. None that I really regret, but many that need learning from. Lifes a record, it spins round, but never really stops, and sometimes the music comes out fuzzy and other times it comes out crystal clear, as lovely as a crisp clear lake. Other times, the record has no music, it just spins, with no noise, and no hint of starting anytime soon, but it just keeps spinning.

Lifes a record, its a record. It's a constant among billions of variables.

I can't really say this post has a point. It really doesn't. I just took thoughts and put them down in here, metaphors for a world that no one really knows. No one including myself. I wish you all the best of this last week of summer. Thank you, and good night. :)

I've got a new Sensation, new sensation

Soooooooooooooooooo, the title pretty much makes zero sense and matches none of this post so don't read too far into it if you will.

I don't know about everyone else, but I know that when I go on AIM there is this weird feeling that if someone doesn't IM me they don't want to talk to me. That doesn't mean it's necessarily true (although I get the good feeling that many people really don't want to), just that I think it's the case. Kinda like "If they don't IM me, they don't want to talk to me and therefore I shouldn't bother them." Half the time I bet the other person could be sitting there thinking the exact same thing. It's just that simple matter of getting over the hump and saying hello, but then there is always that dead time in an internet conversation, that time when you have nothing to say and somebody expects something but there is nothing and that just solidifies the feeling that they really didn't want to talk to you. I'm probably just being paranoid here, or just overthinking the entire process of talking, but am I that far off?? Talking on the internet is so lame, so unfriendly, impersonal. Yet we do it anyways. I don't know why. I can't really make sense of it all. Maybe its the security of knowing you can say whatever you want and plead that someone else was saying it, or that it could be interpreted different ways then it was meant. It's really a sign of how much trouble people our age have socializing with others. I can't speak for other people, but I know that I hate talking on the phone (also due to the dead time in a convo or the fact that things can't be as funny on the phone for some reason) and I despise leaving phones messages. I find the internet conversations to often times be incredibly boring and often ask myself why I am sitting here frying a hole in my brain, the reason probably also comes back to that hole in my brain. I wish I could say I can change overnight and just not come on, I know i can do it, I have done it before for long periods of time. Still, its hard, its like an addiction, I want to know whats going on, I want to talk to people for sometime and find out whose doing what, where. Why is that? What is there to gain from these pixilated screens and plastic keys. Astigmatisms in the eyes, thats for sure. Anyways, back to the main point here. Does anyone else get the feeling that if you sign on and someone doesn't talk to you that clearly means they don't want to talk to you?? It really sucks because there are soo many things I want to say to some people, but I can never bring myself to say it because I simply feel like they don't want to talk to me.

New topic

This is a close to home issue which I really have a hard time thinking anyone would be able to disagree with. If you do, well I really think you have some serious issues.

Has anyone looked at the lovely state of the Milwaukee River lately?? Particularly the part around Veterans Memorial Park. It's in a horrid state of polluted mess. Eutrophication is destroying the wildlife and aesthetic value of the river in every regard. It's rather disconcerting. I propose several things. The first of which should be better pollution barriers for the construction going on downtown. Especially the new ski and cyclery going in right next to the river. There should be run off barriers between that construction zone and the river. Then the new condimium complex directly touching the river is not doing a very good job at stopping the run off of the sediments into the river. This needs to be stopped with barriers and some sort of grass barrier in between the river and the construction. Another huge thing for the river is the damn located directly south of the highway 60 Bridge. That damn slows down river movement to the bare minimum speed and this is terrible because it reduces the amount of oxygen in the river. Oxygen allows the fish and plants to stay alive which keep the river clean. Run off from farmers fields to the north and rain water also cause serious problems. The water that runs into our storm sewers goes directly into the river and is not cleaned at the waste water treatment plant, this is not helping our badly disease infested river. The E. Coli count in that river is dangerously high. And thats just an indicator for other bacteria and diseases which live in the river. I don't understand it all, why can't the city impose stricter regulations on construction along with eliminating the factors which are causing the pollution to occur. It would not cost the city an arm and a leg to do. Removing the damn may cost $3 million but if the river looks better along the main drag as a result, the increased revenue along the riverfront may prove to counter that cost. Plus, the city would have to pay no money to make the construction companies comply with the laws and regulations set in place by the state and EPA. They wouldn't even have to hire people to go and investigate the construction sites because anyone driving down the road could see that the construction sites are not following the rules/law and phone it in and have the city deal with it that way. It's really rather a cost effective idea. Plus it would be good on the eyes. :)

Everyone good luck :)

I just simply want to wish everyone in their sports a good luck this year, and any other ventures that people may be going through good luck.

Kara, Opal, Eileen, Jenn, I want to wish all of you good luck in volleyball. Although why you would want to get closer to Mrs. Kunick I do not know, but still best wishes there.

Matt, soccer is your thing man. You better be making varsity this year after another tough summer of running with us. If you don't, I will have Aman come after you and that won't be pretty.

Theres some tennis players on here as well, Lisa, Kim, Sami, hopefully your season is successful and you do well with T Money.

And lastly, everyone in XC, who I am too lazy to name, good luck. It really doesn't matter if you win, medal, pwn, or suck it up. Just be happy with yourself for performing how you did and enjoy the team atmosphere. It really is the best time of the year and maybe even of your life so everyone enjoy it and lets make it a great season for all of us. Good luck guys!!

Remember you can't win if you never lose.

A Non Killing Topic... Well sorta anyway

Credit for this post has to go out to Eileeners. She gave me the idea from a post of her own, so props to Eileen on this one.

My only question to you is, what is the best board game and why?? Board game here, not card game or anything like that. Board game.

In my own opinion the game Axis and Allies is possibly the best, although the game Risk is fun. The Lord of the Rings version of the game even more so. I would have to say though that for a game that will entertain for days and rack your brain like none other that I have played, Axis and Allies is my main man. It involves 5 players controlling one or more of the 5 countries of World War Two and in essence writing your own ending to the Second World War. Its quite tricky because the Allies are actually meant to lose in the game, and can only win through lots of luck. Plus the game usually on average 3 days to complete so it provides lasting entertainment. And it's just fun to try and outthink everyone whose trying to outthink you at the same time. Really a blast. But then again, that's just me, so you tell me, what games do you think are the greatest of all time??
